Well, its almost that time of year. I'm maybe a month too early. My summer set is in Maryland, and I'll be back in Connecticut until June. So it's now or until June.
On a separate note, I experimented with plastidipping the winter set for the first time this year. Overall, I'm impressed. The color was a little darker than I expected. I opted for anthracite with gloss, and it ended up just looking black. Not a bad thing, but I spent like $40 more for it to look grey and glossy - not black and flat.
Due to the finish of the dip, the wheels attracted a helluva lot of brake dust and other crap (I wasn't washing it nearly as much, either). The only sort of peeling is where they put the tire weights (you can kinda see near the caliber).
Per usual, the General Altimax Arctics were astoundingly good winter tires. Softer ride, and they never left me stuck, despite the weekly foot of snow the Northeast got this year. These tires are like cockroaches - they're done over 23k, and barely show any sort of wear.
Last potato shot with the winter set! Pics with the Pegs and a carwash will follow tomorrow! I'm super excited because it's the first time I'll see the car with the 18" Pegs after it was lowered in December.

Hey I live in CT too!
There is a Caffeine & Carburetors in New Cannan like one Sunday a month. The first of 2015 is April 19th and there is usually a group of people from Oppo, hope you can come!

I may be able to. I'm in Hamden so that may be quite a hike in the morning. Are you doing the UCONN Car Show? This is my last winter in Connecticut - I'm moving to Colorado in July.

New Canaan? Damn that's far. Almost all the way to NYC. Wish there were some more local meetups! (Boston)
I'd still consider it, there is a big Buick meeting just off 684 some coming Sunday (in May I think) if they were the same day I might consider making a loop out of it.

Good to have snow tires up here, even in CT! Boy was I glad to have them this winter! Too bad you aren't closer to Boston, I have tire machines at home, could take care of the swap for you.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure I could have gotten away with all-seasons, but I just prefer to have a dedicated winter and summer set - it makes everything a lot more fun. I could probably do the swap myself - it's just a matter of getting a jack. I'm too lazy though.

Yeah I'll be at the UConn show. New Cannan is pretty far from me too, almost a hour and a half.

Where are you?

There are s bunch of good car shows up around Boston but nothing of the C&C variety I've heard of. I would much rather head towards Boston because I can visit some family after.

I live in Simsbury which is like 20 minutes from Bradley Airport.

There are a couple of C&C shows around Boston but they are always packed quickly and early. The Larz Andersen museum is a good one, Herb Chambers runs a couple too. But both are very crowded. There are a few others around but they are all day events - I like the C&C model.
